Surah Al BaqarahMarketing and Course Material
Client: Al Huda Institute
Role: Lead Designer
Deliverables: Course Branding, Marketing Collateral, Website Assets, Workbook Redesign (5 volumes)
Project Context
Al Huda Institute was preparing to launch one of its largest and most anticipated courses—an in-depth, year-long study of Surah Al-Baqarah. With outdated course materials and a lack of cohesive branding, the institute needed a full redesign of both the marketing strategy and student workbooks to create an engaging, modern, and functional learning experience.
Creative Strategy & Process
A distinct visual identity was developed for the course, extending across all touchpoints—posters, flyers, digital ads, and web materials—to signal the scale and significance of the class. A primary focus was the complete revamp of five major course books, combining Arabic and English content with functional layouts tailored for learning.
Key design solutions included:
- Expanding note-taking space throughout the books—alongside verses, on full facing pages, and in the margins—to promote active engagement with the content.
- Modernizing outdated typefaces and reformatting calligraphy, improving both aesthetics and readability.
- Developing a flexible layout system to ensure consistency across all volumes.
- Selecting a symbolic cover image representing the journey through the Qur’an—where all roads lead to its teachings, and Surah Al-Baqarah, being the longest and most foundational chapter, guides the way.
The project was executed over three years, allowing time for refinement and collaboration with educators, and editors.
